As a woman I can say this... Yahoo is by far the worst site for women on the entire internet. I have not seen many women post here, however I believe that there are many others as disappointed as myself. I am attractive, fit and intelligent, and the responses that I received ranged from scoldings from older men to marriage proposals from the Middle East. I received bad poetry, the worst spelling and grammar I have ever witnessed, and saw pictures of serial-killer looking guys who refused to take off their baseball caps or SUNGLASSES. I was a member for one month, and one month was more than enough. |

I was skeptical when I signed up but one month later, on a whim, I decided to do a search with all my ideal characteristics as 'must haves.' In a 250 mile radius only one name popped up. I contacted him, and we've been calling, emailing, and visiting for the past month now. This could be the one! I was the last person to think I could just put in my order for the perfect guy, but I guess miracles do happen! |

Comparing this site to many others I have tried, I am convinced that Yahoo Personals is the worst. Some of the profiles haven't been active in three months, yet Yahoo sends you emails showing who is a good match. What a joke!

Yahoo personals seems to cater to everyone. They even have a catergory for married people looking to have a little extra marital fun on the side. And you are able to post ANY picture of yourself that you want, even stark naked if that is your thing. I would definitely not recommend this site for anyone hoping to get involved in a meaningful relationship.

I had literally hundreds of men respond to me. But it was very clear to me that most of them can't read.
Most of them completely ignored the stuff I wrote in my profile about my simple requirements.You have a better chance of meeting someone by joining a group that shares the same interests as you, such as a political group. At least there the men have brains.

No Good

To date I have sent out 50 emails and received nothing but several "canned no-thanks". And not one single response to my ad, except a few Russian women. I`m well educated, but I`m not rich & my looks are just average. If you aren`t over 6 feet tall and good looking with a lot of money, you have to literally lie to get woman to respond to you. |

There are a lot of game-players and downright freaky people on Yahoo personals. I have initiated a quite a few interactions with women there. My results have been that (with the exception of two women) there would be two to three meaningless email exchanges wherein the women seemed to have no ineterest at all in getting to know me. |
System Needs An Overhaul

They need to overhaul the entire system to weed out those who really are inactive and not available. Then they need to establish a more accurate match making service where the criteria is more than just age and distance. I reluctantly allowed yahoo to debit my card for a second month. But the likelihood is, I will allow the membership to expire. |

I've written to almost 50 women so far, sent ice-breakers, etc., and I've gotten literally 1 response from my attempts at making first contact. As far as that 1 response goes, I'm sorry to say, but "No Thanks". What's very disturbing to me is that some of the ice-breakers or emails I've gotten have turned out to be obvious fakes. |

I've sent out over 300 emails, I've gotten abou 10 responses. Of those over half try to get me to go to another personal site, try to get me with a Russian mail order bride, or want me to visit an adult website. I've actually talked to only 2 women from there, and neither was a match. Don't waste you time or money there.

Something is seriously wrong

I think Yahoo Personals is a total farce. So far I've had only 3 responses from over 30 that I've sent out. One was from a transexual! The other 2 were, "I liked your note." The other was "our ages are too far apart". So are they canned responses? I don't know. I've gotten Zero inquiries from my posted profile. It's a joke. I had high hopes but something is seriously wrong with this picture. |

This matchmaking site is good in that it has a large membership base, but Yahoo! wants to play God and control what content you put in your profile. They decide how they will crop your personal photo. This is extremely annoying, because if you want to edit one word in your profile, you have to wait up to 48 hours for someone to approve that change. And you might not like how they crop your photo. I tried to browse other male profiles to see what they wrote, but it wouldn't let me. |

I signed up for a 7 day free trial on yahoo personals and it has been a total dissappointment. I sent about 60 emails and have only received one very lame response. Some of the women are actually baits for you to join some adult sites. |

My advice to anyone thinking about Yahoo Personals is don't do it. If you have a busy or odd schedule like I do, be sure to MAKE TIME to get out if you want to meet someone. If you can't do this, then you probably don't want to really meet anyone. |

I am an attractive, fit, and socially active 34 year old male. My profile has been up on Yahoo Personals for over 1 year. I originally paid for 1 month and then cancelled after that. I met 1 woman on the personals that I went on 1 date with but she really wasn't what I was looking for. I sent nearly 100 icebreakers to ladies but seldom recieved anything in return other than a "sorry but your not my type" response. The only women who contacted me were grossly unnattractive and in my opinion represented the bottom of the barrel of the sites members. |

I joined Yahoo Personals and in one month had 12 dates! I've had one date this week with 2 more scheduled and another 2 for next week. I am going to have to start cutting back because it's getting a bit much. Many dates were with women that I didn't not have much compatibility with but they where mostly attractive and looked like their photos. |

I've had good luck on this site. I would consider myself to have above average looks and a fit body. There are a lot of attractive guys, all of whom are active members and located within 25 miles of my location. I haven't had any problems with people just looking for hook-up's. I think that with any of these sites it has to do with which is the "popular" one in your area. Yahoo seems to be where it's at for me. |

Yahoo personals is trying to sucker the average Joe into signing up for the site. No one's gonna sign up for the unattractive fattie's, but throw a few supermodels in the mix and maybe it will convince a few folks to give it a shot. Personally I think yahoo personals should be investigated and shut down for false adverstising.

i signed up for three months a little over a year ago. I had no luck what so ever. A few months after I turned in my membership, I received a note from a gentlemen. Well to make a long story short, we met, we liked what we saw, and the wedding is comming up this month. So thank you Yahoo, for being slow in removing me from the system.

I found lots of trailer trash and even more "attitude cases" on Yahoo Personals. It’s typical of Yahoo's extremely low class, somewhat bigoted clientele and it tends to be reflective of the types of people found on yahoo news Forums. My experience on yahoo was extremely poor.

I sent out 60 or 70 e-mails and heard back from about 3 or 4 stuck up idiots. It was a complete waste of time. The male-female ratio was heavily weighed toward the female - maybe 5 or 6 to 1. I think at least some of the ads are "seeded" ads and meant to lure men in. |
